Founding partner of Bleakley Bavol Denman & Grace, Robert W. Bleakley brings a depth of experience to his clientele ranging from litigation in transportation and trucking law, premises and auto liability claims, workers' compensation and employment claims, sports law, and commercial and corporate matters.  Bleakley has appeared and litigated a diverse range of cases throughout practically every venue in the state of Florida.  Bleakley is an experienced litigator in state, federal, arbitration, and administrative proceedings.

Born in Grand Rapids, Michigan in February of 1967, Bleakley graduated from the University of Michigan with a bachelor’s degree in 1988.  In 1992, Bleakley earned his juris doctor from the Thomas M. Cooley Law School, cum laude. Academically, Bleakley finished in the top 14% of his class and earned membership on the Thomas M. Cooley Law Review where he wrote on the topics of workers' compensation law and commercial disputes.

Robert Bleakley built his legal career and practicing philosophies working for some of the area’s oldest and most respected law firms.  Early in his career, Bleakley earned a reputation as a successful and aggressive trial lawyer.  By the age of 33, Bleakley achieved the prestigious Martindale Hubbell “AV” rating.  Bleakley’s breadth of experience combines the highest standards of professionalism and legal knowledge, with personalized and dedicated service.

In April of 2000, Bleakley founded the firm based upon the principles of superior representation, the highest levels of professionalism, and exceptional service.  The firm initially focused its practice almost exclusively on litigating trucking and workers’ compensation claims.  Through the years the firm has grown in numbers and vastly expanded its areas of practice to include nearly all forms of litigation as well as corporate and business law for both large and small businesses. The firm also assists individuals and families with estate planning needs from simple wills up to and including complex tax minimizing trusts.  Throughout all of its years of rapid growth and expansion, the firm has maintained an “AV” rating as well as its founding principles of professionalism, excellence, with personalized and dedicated service.

Professionally, Bleakley is a member of the Defense Research Institute, a member of the Florida and Hillsborough County Bar Associations, the Florida Defense Lawyers Institute, and the National Retail Restaurant Defense Association.  On a personal note, Bleakley moved to Tampa Bay in 1992.  Bleakley married his wife, Charlene Bleakley, in 1995. The Bleakleys have two boys, Christian and Alexander born in 2000 and 2003 respectively. The Bleakleys are members of Idlewild Baptist Church, Avila Golf and Country Club, and The Tampa Club. Bleakley also serves on the Board of North Tampa Young Life.
