Elisabeth J. Hagood joined the Bleakley Bavol & Denman in September 2017 bringing over two decades of experience in litigation. Born in Orlando, Florida Ms. Hagood is a native Floridian. She attended Rollins College in Winter Park where she received her Bachelor of Arts degree. Ms. Hagood continued her education at the University of Florida College of Law where she earned her Juris Doctor in 1989.

After graduating from the University Of Florida College Of Law, Ms. Hagood worked for the Orange Osceola County State Attorney's Office in the Ninth Judicial Circuit where she prosecuted criminal matters ranging from misdemeanors to felony murder cases. Ms. Hagood obtained significant litigation experience while with the State Attorney's Office, having conducted multiple jury trials as a first chair prosecutor in cases from traffic crimes to felony murder. In 1997 Ms. Hagood left the State Attorney's Office to pursue private practice with a special emphasis on litigation ranging from criminal to family law matters to real estate. As a result of her reputation for aggressive and knowledgeable skill in the courtroom, in 2001, Ms. Hagood joined the Office of the Public Defender, where she continued to first chair felony jury trials for several more years.

Eager to broaden her litigation practice outside of the criminal arena, in 2006 Ms. Hagood once again re-entered private practice delving into a broad array of civil litigation, while also joining forces in the courtroom on high profile criminal cases with Robert Buonauro, P. A., a well-known criminal defense attorney in Orlando.

Although Ms. Hagood chose to assist the Department of Children and Families in Gainesville, Florida from 2014 to 2016 to help children suffering through abusive situations by overseeing Dependency prosecutions, she missed the diversity of civil litigation, so chose to return to private practice in search of a firm like Bleakley Bavol & Denman where she could put her considerable jury trial experience to use in large complex litigation matters.

Currently, Ms. Hagood is a member of the Florida Bar Association, the Orange County Bar Association, and is admitted to practice in the United States District Court in the Middle District of Florida.

Ms. Hagood is the mother of three sons and one daughter. She is an avid equestrian and enjoys riding and spending time with her horse. Ms. Hagood is involved with feral cat rescue and volunteers regularly for several not for profit animal rescue organizations.
